An ode to My Family I Am Black History.

One of the sayings I have kept near to my heart came from my grandfather, James L. Nowling Sr., who said, "Get your education because no matter what they do, they can't take your knowledge from you." This post is inspired by him.

To know Black History means to honor the first Black people in my life—my family.

As an expression of reverence, I think of the generations of our efforts, struggles, and stories of resilience.

I am their legacy.

I proudly carry the torch of hope and strength that they bestowed upon me.

I strive to make them proud.

This is a very nice tribute to your grandfather. He would be very proud of you. Those are the same words he often said to me.
