A Soundproof Soul

Before I speak, I stop to think.

Is this what I'm meant to do?

To try and figure out how to

convince you that I, too

--actually never mind, it's best I choose to shrink.

If you knew my soul could speak

or dared to listen to it for a few; maybe it would even make sense to you.

My soul does speak and I think you knew that too.

Despite that though, maybe it is best that I learned to shrink.
